COMMUNITY groups have demanded the state government stop sitting on it’s hands and honour a Brumby government plan to slash the number of trucks rumbling through the western suburbs.Concerned residents held a rally in Yarraville today calling on the Baillieu government to begin work on the $380 million Truck Action Plan.
The scheme would see the construction of a dedicated truck route via Westgate freeway ramps designed to divert more than a million trucks a year from local streets.
